Students:
Brandon Kaufman
Age: 15
Power: Pixie Wings and Hallucinogenic Dust
Play By: Uriah Shelton
Brief Information: The titular theater kid, Brandon is extroverted and already shows signs of becoming a gifted actor, fully intending to major in theater at whatever college he attends in a few years. His physique matches his power, small-boned and on the shorter side of average. He wants to blame this solely on the wings, but neither of his parents is particularly large, and his younger sister is similarly afflicted. He makes friends easily, but his closest friend remains Irving Coley, Jr., whom he knew from private day school back in Connecticut before they manifested and began attending Hammel. His family is well-off but nowhere near as wealthy as that of his best friend.
Brian Cleghorn
Age: 18
Power: Dream Walking/Astral Projection
Play By: Khamani Griffin
Brief Information: Brian is an artistic soul, often found in the art room working with clay. If he doesn't have clay stuck to his clothes or paint streaked somewhere on his face then it's fair to assume there's something wrong. He's also in choir (tenor) although it sometimes seems he misses as many days as he attends thanks to the debilitating migraines he suffers because of his powers.
George Fleming, Jr.
Age: 17
Power: Teleportation
Play By: Tom Holland
Brief Information: George is yet another Junior from the extended Coley family, the first cousin of Irving Coley, Jr. on his mother's side. George is driven, high-achieving, and has a bit of a sadistic streak with his younger cousins. A natural leader, he hopes to become an attorney like his father and work at a similar high-powered white shoe lawfirm. Much like Irving, Jr., his family is exceedingly wealthy, and his wardrobe is as formal as it is expensive. He is a serial monogamist, and often has a new girlfriend every other month. He is a senior at Hammel and assumes that he will attend Yale next year as part of the class of 2024.
Joseph Palladino
Age: 15
Power: Pyrokinesis
Play By: Brandon Flowers (Young)
Brief Information: The middle Palladino child and the only son, Joseph's personality defies the expectations born of his powers. Maria has introduced him to black eyeliner, which he wears frequently, and sometimes he does his nails as well. Despite this, he is not a goth in the slightest, possessed of a sunny disposition and laid-back demeanor. A product of upstate New York, he misses many of the regional foods, sports, turns of phrase, and culture. He still gets home sick, and while his parents want him to love musical theater as much as they do, he is currently enamored Pokemon Go. Like most pyrokinetics, he has a touch of hydrophobia much to his younger sister's bemusement.
Kaylee Whitaker
Age: 12
Power: Psychometry
Play By: Tessa Espinola
Brief Information: Hailing from the sunny state of California, Kaylee hasn't made the adjustment to Hammel well. She's afraid of her powers and she misses both warmer weather and her family (and worries at every news report about fires). Before manifestation she had a cheerful demeanor but that has yet to be seen by anyone on Hammel's campus.
Maria Palladino
Age: 17
Power: Aerokinesis
Play By: Laura Marano
Brief Information: The oldest Palladino child, Maria is in her fourth year of a goth phase that shows no sign of dissipating. Despite stereotypes about aerokinetics, she is driven and capable of both great feats of concentration and of holding grudges. As part of her goth phase, she wears black clothing, black makeup, and had dyed her hair black. She is a wisp of a girl, barely 100 pounds soaking wet. Aside from the complete works of Edgar Allen Poe and Shelley, she is a devotee of music and hopes to study composition in college.
Matthew Walker
Age: 16
Power: Aerokinesis
Play By: Alex Aiono
Brief Information: He comes from a family of meta-humans with plant-based powers, which makes him something of the odd duck of the Walkers. He is well-meaning and quiet, but somewhat suspicious of people unfamiliar to him, although Hammel has been beneficial in helping him to open up a bit to other students, if not to the broader non-meta community of Pilot Ridge surrounding them. He and Ezra Keeti have bonded over similar cultural heritage, and he often goes to the English teacher for advice.
Poppy Brewer
Age: 14
Power: Electrokinesis and Electric Form
Play By: Stefanie Scott
Brief Information: The daughter of somewhat gullible but well-meaning hippies, Poppy is the oldest of her siblings by a large margin, casting her as more of an aunt to them than an older sister. She loves them but some breathing room has been sorely appreciated. She and Irving Coley, Jr. have been feeling out dating to the extent that any freshman and sophomore from a somewhat sheltered background can do. She is intimidated by swimming pools and ice skating for fear of how she conducts electricty and a disaster that might result. She loves art and art history, and she makes jewelry and knits homemade presents for people. She is a chocolate and peanut butter fiend, drawn like a moth to a flame to any manifestation of that combination.

Brief Information:
Tessa Palladino
Age: 12
Power: Hydrokinesis
Play By: Bailee Madison
Brief Information: The youngest Palladino child recently manifested and has joined her siblings at Hammel. Although one expects a hydrokinetic to be lackadaisical, she is an intense ball of energy who dips her toes into almost everything that she encounters. Already she's joined several clubs and is weighing whether a sport or dance team would be a better fit for her (who is she kidding? It will be the swim team, of course). Unlike her siblings, she doesn't see the appeal of makeup at all and certainly not the color black when there are so many brighter shades to enjoy. She doesn't like the nickname "Tess" if it comes from anyone outside of her family.
Hammel Staff
Alejandro Rodriguez
Age: 42
Power: Power Suppression/Nullification
Play By: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson
Position: Security Guard
Brief Information: He has a "work face" and a "home face" - he acts very differently at home than he does on the job, mostly because he needs to be professional and somewhat intimidating as a security guard. When he's off the clock and away from students, he's very charming and almost camp, including loving vibrant colors and patterns. He has a strict adherence to the law, both letter and spirit and hates when people find loopholes in the student handbook.
Ezra Keeti
Age: 43
Power: Pheromone Manipulation and Tactile Anesthesia
Play By: Taika Waititi
Position: English Teacher
Brief Information: The third member of Glenn Traupel's and Orlando Pareja's friend tri, Ezra is also the youngest and most charismatic, the natural but somewhat unexpected leader of the group. The product of an interfaith and mixed cultural marriage, both sides of his family have set expectations for him in a quiet war vaguely reminiscent of the Capulets and Montagues. For the most part, he ignores it, blending what he wants and discarding what doesn't fit, although the holiday rotation of his childhood was downright exhausting and has left a bad taste in his mouth three decades later. In addition to literature, he has a love of folklore and mythology, baseball and softball, and potlucks and summer cookouts. Generous and patient, and with a creative streak, he strives to make his classes relevant and interesting, with the further goal of instilling a love of the written word in each of his students.
Hatusharu Kenjutsushi
Age: 42
Power: Power Identification
Play By: Jae-joong Kim
Position: Recruiter
Brief Information: Hatsu feels like the Recruiting work was meant for him after he and his sister were rescued by a recruiter at Eisai. An occasionally brash but always energetic individual, he is the most fluent in English (after his sister) due to his original career choice of being a teacher but doesn't always know what to say. He loves sports of all kinds, and fills in as an assistant coach on any Hammel team whenever the need arises.
Niloufar Rahimi
Age: 45
Power: Duplication
Play By: Mahtab Keramati
Position: Security Guard
Brief Information: Reema's aunt, she is responsible for introducing Reema's parents and is, thus, almost as responsible for her niece's existence as they are. She has been employed at Hammel for many years and is noticeable because of her modest dress, her height (5' 11" barefoot), and her no-nonsense persona. Her power makes her particularly effective at her job, as rather than one pair of hands, she can have up to seven at any given time, and woe unto anyone who tries to sneak off campus on her watch. The ultimate morning person, she can be found making the rounds on campus earlier than some of the students are awake, and is thus somewhat allergic to late hours.
Suekeichi Minamori
Age: 45
Power: Plant Manipulation/Photosynthesis
Play By: Mansai Nomura
Position: Chemistry Teacher
Brief Information: Also known somewhat endearingly as "Fox" for both his mischievous appearance and attitude, Professor Minamori is an extremely energetic individual with a love of plants, pranks, and bright colors. His specialty is organic chemistry, and he will easily chat up students and staff alike about his preferred subject. He also sponsors the Horticulture Club at Hammel, and is often found barefoot in the greenhouses during his breaks. Suekeichi is a close friend of the Meian-Kenjutsushi house, and has a distinct (and out of place) British accent from his years at Oxford University.

Dr. Atticus Proctor
Age: 67
Power:
Play By: Christopher Lloyd
Position: Mad Scientist
Brief Information: His rivalry with his former protege Dr. Gamble is notorious, and rumors abound regarding both men and the reason for their falling out. They are, individually and collectively, responsible for much of the chaos of Pilot Ridge that is not related to the Hammel Institute. He and Dr. Gamble can often be found bickering if they run into one another in town; their arguments are legendary. With the loss of his protegee, he works more solitary than he used to.
Cassiopeia Meian
Age: 13
Power: Non-Powered
Play By: Mai Hagiwara
Position: Middle School Student
Brief Information: The sole baseline of the Meian-Kenjutsushi clan, Cassi is a bright and sunny girl who takes her lack of powers as an opportunity rather than a detriment. She is often seen on campus, having spent much of her middle school years coming to sit with her mother in the Infirmary on days where school schedules didn't quite line up. She is well known among the staff as being polite and chipper, as well as thoroughly interested in meta-human abilities, and has lately been seen loitering about the office of one Dr. Atticus Proctor.
Ruby and Shawna Marks-King
Age: 46(R)/50(S)
Power: Non-powered(R)/Assumed muscle memory(S)
Play by: Tracie Thoms(R)/Tracy Chapman(S)
Position: Owners of the Pilot Light Theater
Brief information: Shawna graduated from the Hammel Institute in 1987, entering university a year late to continue powers training. She and Ruby met in the University of Vermont theater program; by the time they both graduated, they were a steadfast couple. In 2012 they opened the Pilot Light Theater in the downtown district of Pilot Ridge. Shawna mainly prefers behind-the-scenes work now, while Ruby is considered the face of the establishment. It keeps them busy, but in their spare time they enjoy the farmer's market and seeing musical acts at other venues around town.
Socorro De La O
Age: 79
Power: Non-powered
Play by: Rita Moreno
Position: Retired music teacher/Community choir director
Brief information: Socorro and her husband moved to Pilot Ridge in 1975 and currently live in the Meadowwood neighborhood. She taught at the local nonpowered high school until she retired at the age of 65. Retirement didn't suit her and she missed making music with others, so after a year she founded the Pilot Ridge Community Choir. Every winter she says she's going to retire to Florida but never does, not wanting to leave the role she's created. She is strict with high expectations, but quick to celebrate her singers when they meet or rise above them. She has three kids, several grandkids, and one great-grandkid, and she carries photos of all of them in her purse.
